Guatemalan author Cindy Barascout will participate in two of the most significant publishing events in the Spanish-speaking world in 2026: the Professional Days of the Buenos Aires International Book Fair (April 21–23) and the Valencia Book Fair (May 8–10).

Barascout is the author of the trilogy El Juego de los Cristales, a work of visionary fiction and contemporary magical realism that explores the relationship between territory, ancestral memory, and collective consciousness—written from Guatemala to the world.
In 2025, she signed a contract with the Spanish publishing house Imaginaria Books, based in Valencia, for the trilogy’s international distribution. This agreement marks a significant step forward for the presence of Guatemalan narrative in the European publishing market.
Her consecutive participation in Buenos Aires and Valencia positions her work within a broader editorial dialogue connecting Latin America and Europe, bringing a narrative with Mesoamerican roots into international spaces.
